What better way to welcome guests into your home than a hot cup of mulled apple cider…spiced with the festive flavors of cinnamon, clove, cranberry, and orange. A cozy drink to enjoy through the whole holiday season whether shared with friends or just snuggled up on the couch with your favorite blanket. While it simmers it also makes your house smell so amazing!! This cider is a whole mood 🙌

A hot cup of mulled apple cider spiced with warm flavors of cinnamon and cloves is a lovely way to welcome guests into your home. This cozy, comforting drink can be enjoyed during the fall season and holidays and will be loved by adults and children.

    Ingredients for Mulled Apple Cider

Mulled apple cider can be made in several variations. I like to keep it basic with just five ingredients:

    • apple cider
    • oranges
    • cranberries
    • cinnamon
    • cloves
Orange slices, fresh cranberries, cinnamon sticks and cloves on a wooden cutting board

    Variations

    • You can also use homemade apple juice. In the high-speed blender make smooth juice of peeled and chopped apples. Strain the juice and add it to the Instant Pot
    • Add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar for a sweeter taste
    • Add a few whole allspice berries or half a teaspoon of ground allspice for a more spicy flavor
    • Short of time? Just use saute(normal) option to quickly heat up the cider. Then press the slow cook button to keep the cider hot for a few hours
    • Don't have an Instant Pot? Simply simmer the cider in a large pot on the stovetop

How to make warm Cider in the Instant Pot

    • Pour apple cider, sliced oranges, fresh cranberries, cinnamon sticks, and cloves into the Instant Pot insert.
    • Press the slow cook option which will default to 4 hours. The cider will be nice and hot after 2 hours and ready to serve. Then leave it on slow cook mode as your guests gather. Instant Pot will keep it nice and warm.

As the ingredients start to heat up, soak in the wonderful and welcoming aroma that will soon fill your kitchen. I like to serve it right out of the Instant Pot this way the cider will stay nice and hot for a couple of hours or until it is all gone.
