Best Chicken Burger
Best Ground Chicken burger recipe for many reasons:
- Lean option to the traditional meat burgers
- Cooks to perfection every time with a juicy, flavor-packed chicken patty
- Burgers without breadcrumbs - trust me, you will not miss them and the patties magically hold together really well.
- Naturally Gluten-Free Burgers - Serve with gluten-free buns or skip the bun altogether. I personally enjoy them wrapped in lettuce leaves.
- No-mess recipe. You do not even have to touch the chicken. Simply place the burger mix on the baking tray or grill and shape with a spoon
- No need to flip the patties when baked in the oven. They cook to perfection in 25 minutes
- The spice level can be easily adjusted by adding more or less of the green chili and garam masala.
Ingredients
- Ground chicken - Perfect for quick and easy meals
- Spices - ground coriander, cumin, and garam masala
- Ginger, Garlic, and Green Chilies - Fresh ginger, garlic, and green chilies add a depth of flavors and spice to the patties. You can also skip the green chili for less spicy burgers.
- Quinoa - Cooked quinoa adds a nice crunch and body to the burgers.
Toppings for Masala Chicken Burger
Classic toppings such as lettuce, tomato, and onion work really well on this burger. Love spicy? Add some tangy-hot pickled jalapenos. For the sauce, you can spread mayonnaise, and ketchup or spice it up with sriracha mayo or the delicious Cilantro Jalapeรฑo Sauce from The Chutney Life. I also love to pair these spicy chicken burgers with the quick and easy Mango Cucumber Salad.
To make quick homemade sriracha mayo simply stir together mayonnaise and sriracha sauce. Add more or less sriracha depending on the level of spice you like. I usually do half mayo and half sriracha for a spicy creamy sauce.
Gluten-Free Burger Patties
These chicken burger patties are naturally gluten-free. To make it a gluten-free meal, simply skip the buns and place large lettuce leaves that can be wrapped around the patty or place lettuce leaves on top and bottom. It adds a nice crunch and makes a delicious meal.

Just made these for lunch today..they were so good, bursting with flavor, easy and healthy! I like that there are no breadcrumbs, also skipped the quinoa. It didn't even need the sriracha mayo-just a slice of onion and tomato. Thanks for a wonderful, foolproof recipe, yet again!

Great recipe. I used this as a guideline to use up ingredients I already had. My husband really enjoyed these burgers. I used boneless skinless chicken breast which I roughly chopped in food processor, then added the spices and onion then processed it further until well incorporated but onions still had chopped texture. This way, the only time I used my hands were to incorporate the cooked quinoa and shape the patties. I pan fried these. They hold their shape really well and were not prone to shrinking as beef patties tend to. So my chicken patty were bigger than the bun, but my husband didn't seem to mind that at all. It was very flavorful. Despite using chicken breast, it wasn't too dry. Thank you for this easy recipe. Made weeknight dinner so quick.
Archana says
Thank you for your detailed feedback Anh. Basically a no-fail recipe and you can adjust the ingredients as per your taste. Also I agree that the patties are bigger than bun but that makes them so satisfying ๐ I also LOVE to eat them wrapped in lettuce leaves instead of bun.

Made these tonight, and they were fantastic! In fact, they were so good, they will be on the menu regularly at our house this summer. I made King Arthur Flour's Beautiful Burger Buns to go with (and cut the sugar in half in that recipe). Just delicious! Thanks so much for this recipe! Here is the bun recipe for those of you who might be interested.

Awesome recipe!! My family loved it.
Manisha says
I've made these once with ground chicken, and baked them, however there was a lot of liquid that came off the burgers, that 1/2 way through I had to pull them out to drain out the liquid.
We like them browned but they didn't really come out that way.
Any suggestions on baking with a broil at the end and timings/temperatures to get the 'grilled' finish on the chicken burgers in the oven?
Archana says
I assume you do not rinse your ground chicken? There should be not be a need to drain liquids. And to brown you can simply broil them in the end to finish off the cooking.
Manisha Morris says
Hi, No I didn't rinse the ground chicken, and I baked it on parchment paper to avoid the messy cleanup, maybe that's what caused it.
What I did the 2nd time is I made the recipe with turkey and shaped into kebabs. I made sure there was extra parchment 'hanging over' the side of the cookie sheet. 1/2 way through, I pulled them out to flip them and also drained them easier with the overhung parchment paper. I guess the meat I'm buying is juicy and releases a lot of liquid.
This is a huge hit, and a favorite ! low carb meal with the kebabs, raita and a side cool cucumber, tomato, onion, coriander salad. spicy and hits the spot!!
Muneet says
Hello. Which cheese would go with this burger? Do you use the jalapeรฑo and sriracha mayo together?
Archana says
Any cheese you like! I would use either sriracha mark or the jalapeรฑo cilantro sauce. Not both.

Hi Archana,
