Top 10 recipes of 2021
#1: Instant Pot Chicken Biryani
Quite possibly the most well-known rice dish from India, biryani can be found throughout the country, though there are subtle variations from region to region. But one thing is consistent: the process to make it is long and complex. My family's treasured recipe transforms biryani into a quick, accessible dish. This meal is made of fragrant basmati rice, tender spiced chicken, and caramelized onions, and it can be cooked in less than an hour while maintaining the same authentic flavor and texture of traditional versions.
#2: Mom's Garam Masala - A Family Recipe
LOVE that so many of you guys made this family recipe in 2021! When I worked on this recipe with my mom in 2017 it was my effort to document an heirloom recipe. I never thought that thousands of you will make this garam masala recipe with 20+ spices. Thank you for all the feedback and lovely reviews.
#3: Mumbai Pav Bhaji
Pav Bhaji is a spicy mashed vegetable dish, served piping hot with a dollop of butter, diced red onions, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime. Accompanied by warm buttery pan-toasted rolls, this visually delightful dish is sure to fill your tummy as well as your heart!
#4: Homemade Pomegranate Juice
Sparkly, crisp and vibrant, are the buzzwords that instantly pop in my head when I behold a glass of freshly extracted deep-red pomegranate juice. One of the most refreshing drinks, this sweet and tart juice is superbly satisfying and is a treasure trove of health benefits.
#5: Homemade Electrolyte Drink
Homemade electrolyte drinks! These DIY thirst quenchers are not only easy to make but also inexpensive. You can make them in your favorite flavors and the best part ... knowing exactly what you are putting in your body!
#6: How to make Idli Batter
South Indian food is my all-time favorite food. I have been making Idli batter at home for years and now with Instant Pot, the process of fermenting the batter has become a lot easier. The best part, I use the same batter to also make fluffy uttapam and crispy dosa too!
#7: Vegetable Hakka Noodles
Love thy noodles will take on a new meaning altogether once you have tried the extremely popular Vegetable Hakka Noodles. Commonly served in most Indian restaurants and street-side eateries, these Indo-Chinese Hakka Noodles are a perfect balance of crunch, relish, and goodness. Easy to make, these scrumptious stir-fry noodles tossed in delectable sauces and loads of vegetables make an awesome weeknight dinner.
#8: Instant Pot Egg Biryani
Egg Biryani is a must-try recipe for all egg lovers as it promises to take your love for eggs to another level altogether. The zesty marinade for egg biryani is made from freshly ground spices, grated ginger, minced garlic, chopped mint, and cilantro. This fresh and pungent marinade lends an unmistakable character to the otherwise humble boiled eggs and makes this dish one of the most tasteful meals.
#9: Chicken Karahi | Instant Pot & Stove Top Recipe
Chicken Karahi or Chicken Kadai is a spicy, homestyle chicken curry with fragrant spices and fresh ginger. My recipe explains how to make this flavor-packed and authentic tasting chicken curry in just a few simple steps using Instant Pot or a skillet.
#10: Spicy Misal Pav
Misal Pav is a vibrant meal consisting of a spicy sprouted bean curry topped with crunchy Farsan, crisp red onions, and fresh cilantro that is served with lightly buttered Pav or dinner rolls. The bold flavors of this peppery dish are accentuated with a dash of lemon, packing in an explosion of flavors in every bite.
